COAF Smart Center Armavir

Role: Local Architect

Year:  2023-now

Area: 5600 m²

Stage:  In construction

Location:  Myasnikyan, Armavir, RA

Marking another project in our successful collaboration with renowned Spanish architect Alberto Campo Baeza, we are proud to introduce the new COAF SMART Center in Armavir. This region holds a special place in COAF's history, as it is exactly where the charity foundation first launched its mission to uplift rural communities back in 2003. Located right next to the Youredjian Child and Family Center, this building is the main facility of the SMART Campus. The new educational hub is designed to bring world-class, non-formal education to local children and youth.

The four-story building beautifully blends monumental presence with elegant simplicity. It is anchored by a unique semi-basement "podium" that features welcoming open-air courtyards. The three upper floors, perfectly square in layout, are completely clad in natural travertine stone. Expansive glass windows, equipped with thoughtfully designed sunshades, ensure the interiors are flooded with natural light while remaining cool and comfortable throughout the day.

Inclusivity and sustainability are at the very core of this project. The entire center is fully accessible, ensuring that everyone, regardless of mobility, can freely navigate all floors. Furthermore, the campus embraces green technology: it is powered by a nearby solar plant, utilizes a local water treatment system, and harvests rainwater to irrigate the surrounding greenery.

Ultimately, the Armavir SMART Center is more than just a striking piece of architecture—it is a bright, safe, and inspiring environment where the next generation can learn, grow, and shape their futures.
